Official daily recaps during the Faire.

Daily Recap: Monday

Chaddul Ro – picture by Caitlin Tobias.

Monday dawned slowly on the Fairelands, as the Faire Folk slept in late from all the busy weekend-partying.

Opal Flight was mostly free for art explorers for only The Monarchs had a scheduled dance performance.

The roleplayers’ stories proceeded at steady pace: have you noticed that you can read detailed updates on our website, both daily and in their own pages?

In the Literary Festival there were Region Tours to Egregore and Fallen Sands, as well as Fantasy Writing Prompts, Sounds of Poems and Seanchai Library.

Seanan McGuire, the author of October Daye novels, visited the Literary Festival for an interview! Faire Folk voted October Daye as the Queen of Fantasy Faire last year, so naturally plenty of them showed up, excited to meet the world-builder of the Sidhe in San Francisco.

Seanan McGuire interviewed by Saffia Widdershins.

Seanan talked of her works, her growth as an author and the many challenges of writing. She also answered questions from the audience, and was taught how to move camera in Second Life, just in time to see dinkies, and Pawlice, who later delighted her with the traditional Faireland Greeting of Riverdancing.

Seanan will return to the Faire on Friday when she will do a reading of her own work at 1 – 3 PM!

We also had an impressive line-up of DJs at The FaireChylde, resulting in something special!

“Fairelanders had already been raising mad money all day long, when from a distant shore came a call for Heroes… The Relay For Life of Second Life was only $500 US Dollars away from a 2017 total of $100,000 USD. RFL of SL Chair Nuala Maracas called out for heroes to rally to her aid. The Fairelands responded to that call. In less than an hour, and helped by a generous Match offered by the Faireland Sponsors, the challenge was met, the goal reached, and the Unweaver took one in the teeth!” – Zander Greene

Well done, Faire Folk! That’s the spirit of the Fairelands.

It’s not all Hugo-nominated fantasy authors and Relay record-breaking, you know. Faire also has a dark underside, a tangible threat hanging in the air, promising that any given moment the tranquil peace might be broken. With a fish in the face!

Don’t let appearances deceive you, they are ruthless! Armed with fish (they can’t throw cakes, they’d eat them), these hooligans have been known to assault Faire Folk from left and right (and mostly from below).

Afterwards, it is said, they dance the Triumphant Dance of Their People.

Be aware of your surroundings, Faire Folk, and remember: the Cuter It Is, the Bigger a Pie It Carries!

With that warning, let’s move onto today’s Totally Harmless entertainments!

In Opal Flight we’ll have three dance performances: The Night Theater 1 – 2 PM, Misfit Dance & Performance Art 5 – 6 PM and The Monarchs 7 – 8 PM.

In The Literary Festival we’ll have Fantasy Writing Prompts 10 – 11 AM, Nirvana Open Mic 1 – 2 PM, Morgen Rich talking about the transition from roleplay to author 2 – 3 PM and Seanchai Library 7 – 8 PM. The Literary Festival takes place in Kakushi Pasu.

The LitFest Region Tours will travel to Fallen Sands 12 PM – 1 PM and San Mora 5 – 6 PM and 8 – 9 PM. The tours gather in Kakushi Pasu first before venturing forth.

The roleplay in the Fairelands takes place in four different Fairelands: 12 – 2 PM: Steelwood at The Hill, 2 – 4 PM The Lilypods at Mudrana (with DJ Madonna today), 4 – 6 PM Sanctuary at Raven’s Perch and 6 – 8 PM The NeoVictoria Project at Anansi. There’ll also be a Roleplay Class at Fallen Sands 11 AM – 12 PM.

DJ Madonna will start a party in Mudrana at 1 PM, and then continues playing music for the roleplay of The Lilypods in the same location 2 – 4 PM. Later on DJ Holocluck Henly will claim the deck of the party ship The FaireChylde 7 – 9 PM. Come dance with us, Faire Folk!

Daily Recap: Sunday

The Rose – picture by Alisaundra Andel.

Sunday wrapped our first Faire-weekend with an amazing series of events.

We had a visit from Trader Whiplash, who interviewed some of our Fairelanders for his Relay Rap, broadcasted simultaneously to both Fantasy Faire Radio and T1, the official media partner of Relay For Life of Second Life.

In the Literary Festival we had Avgi Poetry Open Mic, Fantasy Writing Prompts, Freyja Nemeth (Linda Antonsson) of The World of Ice & Fire fame, Boudicaa Amat, Taters and Tots with Ceejay Writer and the LitFest Region Tours traveled to Dawn’s Promise and Egregore.

In Opal Flight the sparkles kept flying as Club IMAGE, The Night Theater, Sky Fire, The Luxe Girls and Misfit Dance & Performance Art kept the Faire Folk entertained.

The amazing roleplay groups continued to weave their stories within the Fairelands: Ynys Seamaide, Steelwood, The Lilypods and Sanctuary adventured through the Fairelands. We also had a fantastic roleplay class held at Fallen Sands.

The parties featured DJ Deere at The FaireChylde and an impromptu party in Dawn’s Promise by DJ Nyza Stillwater!

The star of the day was no doubt Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing by the Faireland Players. The play was magically adapted to fit the Fairelands, including the cast’s fantasy looks and of course the involvement of The Pawlice, which became an immediate audience favourite. This was the first time that a play of this kind of thoroughly choreographed magnitude was prepared for the Faire, and it was truly an astonishing experience!

The Pawlice save the day in Much Ado About Nothing – picture by Wildstar Beaumont.

The setting, the looks, the way the actors were arranged to move in sync with the voice-acted and recorded play raised the whole entertainment to a completely new level. If you missed this one, there will be an encore on the next Sunday, April 30th at 10 AM!

The Pawlice locking up criminals and never nonnying for nothing! – picture by Wildstar Beaumont.

Guess this goes to show that no one can escape the Long Paw of Law, not even Shakespearean villains!

Monday dawns on the Fairelands slightly more relaxing although we have an exciting event for anyone with a liking for modern fantasy: Seanan McGuire, the author of October Daye novels, comes to the Literary Festival for an interview! Come join us in Kakushi Pasu 1 – 3 PM!

Otherwise the Literary Festival holds Performances by the Fiction Workshop 6 – 7 AM, Fantasy Writing Prompts 10 – 11 AM, Sounds of Poems 3 – 4 PM and Seanchai Library 7 – 8 PM. The LitFest Region Tours will travel to Egregore 12 – 1 PM and to Fallen Sands 5 – 6 PM and 8 – 9 PM. All the Literary Festival events take place in Kakushi Pasu, even the Region Tours gather there before venturing forth.

Today is an excellent day to explore the Art Galleries in Opal Flight for there’ll be just one dance theater performance: The Monarchs 5 – 6 PM.

DJs make the Faire Folk dance! Today there’s a tag team by DJ Dani and DJ Silverfox in Dawn’s Promise 1 – 3 PM and on the deck of The FaireChylde DJ Martin Glom 3 – 5 PM,  DJ Gem Sunkiller 5 – 7 PM and DJ Sasha 7 – 9 PM.

The roleplay in the Fairelands takes places in four different Fairelands: 12 – 2 PM Steelwood at The Hill, 2 – 4 PM The Lilypods at Mudrana, 4 – 6 PM Sanctuary at Raven’s Perch and 6 – 8 PM Ynys Seamaide at The Spirit Pool. There’ll also be Roleplay Class at Fallen Sands 11 AM – 12 PM.

If you run out of things to do, the Fairelands Quest: The Bard Queen’s Song is now open for your adventuring pleasure. Go forth and save the Bard Queen!

Check either Calendar of Events or Faire Happenings for daily event details!

Fantasy Faire has relayed L$ 3,290,116 ($ 12,654)  by the end of the fourth day of the Faire. Keep up the fantastic work, Faire Folk!

Daily Recap: Saturday

Do you dare to enter Morbus and save the Bard Queen? – picture by Caitlin Tobias.

Saturday finally brought with it the opening of The Fairelands Quest: The Bard Queen’s Song! Faire Folk had been waiting for the chance to adventure impatiently and rushed off to save the Bard Queen! The Quest HUDs are available for purchase at all the landing points in every Faireland. Read the play guide for hints, tips and help.

Two immediate tips: if you bought the Deluxe Edition, REZ the HUD to get the included outfit coupon, it’s no-copy and cannot be transferred by scripts. Also Save often and Reload if you crash and/or the HUD seems confused. Save and Reload can be found under Setup button.

Saturday’s schedule involved an impressive list of dance and particle performances in Opal Flight: Club IMAGE, Shadows Silhouettes, ChangHigh Trinity Sisters, The Avilion Merballet and Misfit Dance & Performance Art kept the sparkles flying!

The Literary Festival included The Poets’ Plunder, Fantasy Writing Prompts and Cold Shot Players, as well as the LitFest Region Tours to Raven’s Perch and Dawn’s Promise.

The amazing roleplay groups continued to weave their stories within the Fairelands: Ynys Seamaide, Outbreak, The Lilypods, Sanctuary and The NeoVictoria Project proceeded to puzzle out their challenges. Read more about their stories and get involved with the roleplay!

There were several parties around the Fairelands, music provided by DJ Ktahdn, DJ Fuzz and also DJ Magda, who played music for The Lilypods roleplay.

Perhaps the most interesting DJ-lead event was the Fabulous Fae Parade with ColeMarie Soleil. The parade filled The Hill and managed to sparkle its way through Dawn’s Promise to The Rose where it was abruptly stopped. Apparently some Fairelands are not as welcoming toward the Fae as the others!

Avariel Falcon caught in a Fae Trap!

The bridge was guarded by a Black Knight (and limbo board. and a drow. and a demon. and a completely accidental bunny.), but after some negotiations the Black Knight relented, and the Fae Parade was allowed to pass, and begin a garden party in The Rose. All’s well that… doesn’t crash, or some such.

Such happy endings surely promise good things for Sunday! It will be a busy day, and it brings with it two special events to crown our busy schedule!

The Faireland Players will stage a magical interpretation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing 1 – 3 PM at Opal Flight. Come early to reserve your seat!

The Literary Festival begins early with Avgi Poetry Open Mic with Sabreman & Jolie Carter at 8 – 9 AM, followed by Fantasy Writing Prompts at 10 – 11 AM.

At 11 AM all the Game of Thrones fans get a treat with Freyja Nemeth, (Linda Antonsson) the co-author of The World Of Ice And Fire and the founder of Westeros.org

The Literary Festival continues with Boudicaa Amat 3 – 4 PM and Taters and Tots: From Kid’s Books to Cook Books with Ceejay Writer 7 – 8 PM. The Literary Festival takes place in Kakushi Pasu.

The LitFest Region Tours travel to Dawn’s Promise 12 – 1 PM and to Egregore 5 – 6 PM and 8 – 9 PM. The tours gather in Kakushi Pasu first before venturing forth.

Sunday will be wrapped up with a party on the deck of The FaireChylde with DJ Deere 9 – 11 PM. Come dance with us!

Check either Calendar of Events or Faire Happenings for daily event details!

Fantasy Faire has relayed L$ 2,901,478 ($ 11,160) by the end of the third day of the Faire. Keep up the fantastic work, Faire Folk!

Daily Recap: Friday

Mudrana – picture by Justen Tyme.

Friday arrived with the return of gremlins — I swear we’re declaring a hunting season on them! I’m speaking of the usual gremlinesque side effects of course: lag, teleport problems, region crossing issues, our beloved Second Life at its usual best.

Fortunately our Officers of the Paw are always sniffing out the troublemakers and knew exactly where to place the blame: straight on the shoulders of the Overlords Known as Lindens! Before you could say ‘region’ (but not before you could traitorously whisper ‘sim’) the cage dropped over Perilous Patch Linden and Dread Derrick Linden!

The declarations of innocence swiftly changed into blatant bribery: the Lindens know what works, after all. There were Linden Bears galore, promises of dress wearing (Derrick wore it better) and visits to never-released Linden experience regions, extra prims for private islands for a month, and even a free Homestead region for a month for a L30,000 bail into the RFL kiosk!

Officer of the Paw, Cassie Eldemar, guarding the Perilous Patch and Dread Derrick Linden.

After Patch and Derrick bribed their ways into dress-wearing freedom, the cage dropped down again: this time on Killer-Keira and Debug-Dee Linden! This is where things got really interesting for Dee brought the big guns. Bribe Guns of Epic Proportions.

[15:04] Dee Linden: how about additional Faire Days?

Needless to say that Faire Folk went into bailing frenzy. The demanded price was L10,000 per Faireland per day, so L150,000 for one extra day of Fantasy Faire for the whole of Fairelands.

The end treasury sum was L240,000 raised for Relay For Life. Well done, Faire Folk! Not only have you assaulted Unweaver’s cancerous designs, you have saved our precious Fairelands for an additional day!

Friday also saw the beginning of our astonishing dance and particle performances in Opal Flight. Four shows of Second Life’s best sparkle and motion storytelling groups started off our impressive entertainment schedule: The Night Theater, Lady Garden Cabaret, The Monarchs and Misfit Dance and Performance Art.

In the Literary Festival we had a much-awaited live reading by Caledonia Skytower, Fantasy Writing Prompts and a Short Story Discussion Group. We also had a spectacular opportunity to hear from a true veteran of her field: Jan Scott-Frazier, who was interviewed about Anime and Fantasy. The LitFest Region Tours traveled to Mudrana and Raven’s Perch.

The roleplay groups of Steelwood, The Lilypods, Sanctuary, The NeoVictoria Project and Ynys Seamaide adventured further in their storylines. For more roleplay updates, read their information!

The day ended fittingly with parties on The FaireChylde with DJs Bard and Hazard.

Saturday arrives with a busy schedule to entertain Faire Folk!

Daily Recap: Thursday

The Kickoff Party at The FaireChylde – picture by Caitlin Tobias

We wait for them for a year. We wait and remember the last years, we wait and try not to hold our breaths as they begin to take shape: one tree, one tower, one rising hill at a time.

We drive off gremlins from the gears, clean dusty corners, check and re-check and polish, feel our hearts begin to beat with the awakening rhythm of the realms.

The Fairelands have returned. The wait is over and the eleven days of magic are finally here again! We invite you to come and join us: become Faire Folk, find your own story and share it with others.

As the portals opened on Thursday we still had gremlins to chase, but gradually the Fairelands have become stable and welcoming once more.

The busy life of Faire Folk started right away: Literary Festival has returned and is this year located in Kakushi Pasu, the dance and particle performances will be held in Opal Flight, the DJ dance parties are on the deck of our beloved FaireChylde in Kakushi Pasu and the six roleplay groups adventure in various Fairelands.

As Faire Folk began their exploration of their new-risen realms, the roleplay groups of The NeoVictoria Project, The Lilypods, Sanctuary and Ynys Seamaide began to weave their stories in the Fairelands. The Literary Festival held Wolfie’s Poetry Surf and had two Region Tours to Mudrana.

As always, we gathered on the deck of The FaireChylde, our beloved dragon-borne party ship and took the first dancing steps of the Faire with DJs Zander Greene, Rik and Hazard.

There was also a surprising event of a wedding almost gone wrong! AineMari Flanagan, DJ, creator and Faire-sponsor, has been adamant about marrying Sir Null and Void for several months now. This resulted into an event where Faire Folk could decide if this was to occur or not. Voting through RFL kiosks is always a reliable method and it seems that the wedding will take place! …as soon as the groom has been located.

Friday arrives with three extraordinarily interesting events!

There’ll be Jail and Bail of Lindens at 2 – 4 PM in Egregore. Come throw tomatoes at Dee and Patch! …I mean, come bail them out by donating to RFL kiosks. Yes, that’s what I mean.

The Fairelands Quest: Bard Queen’s Song begins today! The Bard Queen herself is missing, and it is up to Faire Folk to save her! The quest HUDs will be set for sale later on today at all the landing points, so be on the lookout for those.

In the Literary Festival there will be an interview of Jan Scott Frazier about Anime and Fantasy, come join us 6 – 7 PM in Kakushi Pasu

Otherwise the Literary Festival in Kakushi Pasu holds Fantasy Writing Prompts as a part of the National Poetry Writing Month 10 – 11 AM, Caledonia Skytower reads her work Gorak the Gobbler 1 – 2 PM and there’ll be Short Story Discussion Group with Destry Recreant 3 – 4 PM.

The LitFest Region Tours travel to Mudrana at 12 PM and Raven’s Perch at 5 PM and 8 PM. The groups gather in Kakushi Pasu before venturing forward.

The dance and particle performances begin today in Opal Flight! There’ll be The Night Theater at 11 AM, Lady Garden Cabaret at 1 PM, The Monarchs at 3 PM and Misfit Dance & Performance Art at 5 PM. Come early to reserve your seat on top of the tall plants!

The roleplay classes begin today! Whether you’re new to roleplaying or not, come and join us at Fallen Sands 11 AM for new ideas and to meet other roleplayers out of character. The roleplay stories continue in five Fairelands today: 12 – 2 PM: Steelwood at The Hill,  2 – 4 PM: The Lilypods at Mudrana, 4 – 6 PM: Sanctuary at Raven’s Perch, 6 – 8 PM: The NeoVictoria Project at Anansi, and 8 – 10 PM: Ynys Seamaide at The Spirit Pool.

If that wasn’t enough, we of course have DJ parties on the deck of The FaireChylde: DJ Bard 7 – 9 PM and DJ Hazard at 9 – 11 PM. Come dance with us!

Check either Calendar of Events or Faire Happenings for daily event details!

Fantasy Faire has relayed L$ 1,686,352 ($ 6,486) by the end of the first day of the Faire. Keep up the fantastic work, Faire Folk!

The Fantasy Faire 2017 is made possible by the generous support of our sponsors: Abstract Soul, [ Aleutia ], AviewTV, Building Daydreams, Dandelion Daydreams Factory, Dark Unicorns of Lovelace, Dragon Magick Wares, DRD, Epic Toy Factory, Faida, Fallen Gods Inc., Kei Spot, Little, Big Designs, The Looking Glass, The Lost Unicorn Gallery, MacMoragh an Gabha, meadowWorks, Merchants of Dreams, The NeoVictoria Project, OtherSkin, Poliak’s Emporium, Rivendale, Roawenwood, Ruins of Xenark RP Community, Sanctuary RP Community, Satyr’s Moon, Silvan Moon Designs, Solarium, Spyralle, Steelwood, TIS Club Equipment and Animations, Titans, Velvet Whip and Vengeful Threads.

Fairelands Junction – picture by Caitlin Tobias

Daily Recap: Sunday

FF2016 - set A - Fairelands Junction_001
Fairelands Junction, picture by Wildstar Beaumont

Sunday was the last official day of Fantasy Faire this year. It feels surreal, it feels too soon. Surely we opened just yesterday?

The very last events rolled in early: the Region Tour to Blackmoor, Lady Garden Cabaret in Sapphire Mirror Lake, ColeMarie Soleil’s music and particle performance in Lucentia and the conclusion of Sanctuary’s roleplay in Dangarnon.

There was also a not-so-shocking Jail & Bail in Bright Haven as Clover Dezno and Druscilla Ferraris were thrown behind bars. These two tinies simply cannot stay out of trouble and every Faire the Long Paw of Law catches them sooner or later, which is inevitably followed by a not-so-tiny riot of tinies, always sooner than later.

Colver and Dru Jail and Bail

The protests against the Pawlice Abuse rose to levels never witnessed before and with no intervention from Her High Faireness this time, the most magical of miracles happened! The innocent victims were freed and the Pawlice found themselves locked up instead!

This day will surely go down in Faire history. Mostly because I’m the one scribbling the said history, a Faire-day by Faire-day, and this day marks a great triumph in the struggle against the waffle-addicted tyranny of the Pawlice! …although one might also note that the moment they were locked up, there was about ten cunning plots for hijinks and shenanigans conceived within the audience. Perhaps… just perhaps we need the Pawlice after all. The bail money to free the accused, to keep them locked in, to lock up the Pawlice, to free the Pawlice to turn laughter into medicine reached 106,000 lindens in the RFL kiosks.

The jail and bail pawtay was followed by our traditional Live Auction. Every year we auction off pieces of the Fairelands so that people can bring a piece of magic home with them. In addition to the high bid items we also had Faire-souvenirs for sale so that everyone could take at least some mementos home. This year we had the banners from the website by Alia Baroque and a wonderful gacha of dwagis, decorated by several of our world builders.

Fantasy Faire 2016!
Her High Faireness Elizabeth Tinsley hosted the Live Auction on voice, bringing the crowd to happy smiles and not-so-hidden tears at times. Picture by Avariel Falcon.

The Live Auction was hosted by Her High Faireness Elizabeth Tinsley, whose voice kept the audience caught in that rare mix of emotions where you feel you could cry, but cannot stop smiling. The whole auction brought to mind very strongly why we bring the Fairelands back every year, why we Relay.

The highest selling item that turned into a heart-stopping bid war was the Last Hope statue from Dangarnon. Both Searlait Nitschke and Gwen Enchanted had decided they had to have this beautiful harp-playing sculpture. In the end and after a discussion with DRD’s team, a compromise was made: both Searlait and Gwen paid 205,000 lindens and both of them received the statue, and all the Dangarnon extras the DRD team added to it. This is the first of its kind solution in the Faire history and it made the whole audience both stunned and weepy, for everyone knows that purchasing Last Hope for RFL is in fact giving that Hope for many.

Fantasy Faire 2016!
Live Auction, picture by Avariel Falcon.

Altogether the Live Auction had about twenty items up for bid, including for example the whole region of Breeze, all the Coolbuses, fancy hedgehogs from Echtra, the crystal from Lucentia, memorials from Blackmoor and Serenity, forests from Twilight Illusion and Lucentia, OtherWorld geology pack, special FF-marked Egyptian statues from The Golden Delta and even the Dark Tower from Dangarnon! Together with the souvenir-banner and gacha sales the Live Auction brought over one million lindens for Relay For Life.

Fantasy Faire 2016!
May Day Masked Ball, picture by Avariel Falcon.

The final wrap-up of the Faire was of course the May Day Masked Ball, taking place in Sapphire Mirror Lake right after the Live Auction. The party was DJed by Gabrielle Riel of Radio Riel, our media partner who makes Fantasy Faire Radio possible.

The King, Queen and the Chancellor of Fantasy Faire were revealed during the party, the Faire Folk’s votes favoring The Last Unicorn as the Chancellor, October Daye as the queen and The Goblin King as the king of the Faire!

The party kept going well past the official hours to the point when even the most determined Fairelander had to succumb to sleep, to continue the Faireland exploration in their dreams.

By early morning hours of Monday Fantasy Faire has relayed L$ 7,375,719 lindens, which translates to $ 29,503 US dollars! This is a stunning achievement and it leaves all of us speechless in gratitude. Well done, Faire Folk. Magnificently well done.

Although the Faire is now officially closed, the Fairelands are still open! There are no more events and the higher powers known as the Linden Lab can and may make the Fairelands fade into the mists whenever they wish, but we have been given the understanding that all their mist-fader-machines are reserved until Wednesday, giving us a couple of extra days to wander around the Fairelands, explore, shop and even finish the Quest! Yes, the quest stays open and playable as long as the Fairelands exist. Speaking of, if you have finished it, please give us feedback on it!

So peaceful

Daily Recap: Saturday

Breeze9
The Tiny Sheriffs Association in Breeze, picture by Alisaundra Andel

Saturday was — as can be expected – extremely busy day. It was also a happy day, full of exploration and wanderings and events, the approaching end of the Faire not yet fully realized.

The Literary Festival held its last full schedule with Poets’ Plunder, Speculative Fiction, Organic Literary Growth in New Babbage and ‘For the Love (and Hate) of Lovecraft. The Region Tours traveled to Tinkers Hollow and Blackmoor.

The Sapphire Mirror Lake had four shows: Shadows Silhouettes “Pieces of Eight”, The Night Theater “Fairytales Told”, The Misfits “The Rest of the Story” and The Avilion MerBallet.

The big shock of the day was The Tiny Sheriffs Association arresting three sweetest and most innocent Faire Folk ever: Avariel Falcon, Yuna Yuadl and Zohee Goldshark. When a unicorn, a petite fairy and a mermaid can’t peacefully walk into a bar… wait. Peacefully walk in the Fairelands, surely something is wrong with the Law!

Wildstar Beaumont:
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves of the pawlice again!

Fantasy Faire 2016 - Jain and Bail

The objections and the rioting rose to such levels that the Pawlice were jailed themselves after enough bails were paid, which brought up a surprising show of support from Her High Faireness herself, who promised to join them in jail if the Faire Folk insisted on their corruption. There was a lot of scuffing of hooves and toes, for surely accusing Her High Faireness is beyond anyone’s imagination!

When the innocent Fairelanders were finally freed, the crowd followed Avariel Falcon to a quest of utmost importance: to bring the seasons back to Echtra! The Children of Echtra had been busily figuring out why their land was so gloomy and cursed throughout the Faire, had braved dangers and found out the truth and now they were trying to warm the frozen dragon’s heart to free the land from the curse of stuck time.

How do you warm a dragon’s heart, you may ask. The children approached this dilemma in several ways: the simplest one is of course with gold, it warms any dragon’s heart, but when offered willingly to those in need, it carries an extra element of compassion with it. In addition the children told stories of warm moments in their lives, of catching frogs in the summer, of playing under the warm sun, all the while dancing around the magical fire to the music played by DJ Zander Greene.

When even the Winter Prince and the Summer Princess joined in the dance, the curse was broken and the sunlight returned to Echtra, much to the joy and delight of the Faire Folk. It took 125,000 lindens in RFL kiosks to raise the dragon from his slumber, but it was certainly worth it!

In the other roleplay stories the Sanctuary searched for a hero fitting the description to meet the Blood King and in the Great Alliance’s story the Queen finally made her choice of suitors!

The Silent Auction closed and wrapped up with its usual hectic last-moment bidding wars, all of the 250,000 lindens going to Relay For Life. DJ Nuala Maracas kept the bidders dancing throughout these best of combats.

The parties continued throughout the evening with the help of DJ Nyza Stillwater, DJ Magdalena Kamenev and DJ TheIceDemon Starside.

Today is the last official day of the Faire.

It’s always a stunning sentence to write, it feels like we just opened and it cannot close yet, there is still too much to see and do! Fortunately we never close the portals to the Fairelands and although the higher powers known as Lindens can and will remove the lands at any point after Sunday, they have been known to be lazy about it, giving the Faire a few extra unofficial days for wandering, exploration and shopping!

As you can guess, today’s schedule is filled with last moments. There is the last Region Tour heading to Blackmoor 10-11 AM, starting from the Pavillion in OtherWorld. The last dance performance in Sapphire Mirror Lake: Lady Garden Cabaret 11AM-12PM and the last particle and music show of ColeMarie Soleil’s in a special stage in Lucentia 12PM-1PM.

The very last part of the roleplay stories is played out 1-3 PM in Dangarnon with the Sanctuary roleplayers and their classic struggle between good and evil as the Blood King attacks the heroes.  Will he succeed in spreading his evil over the lands?  Who will prevail?

There is also the very last of Jail & Bails today, the Tiny Sheriffs turn against their own and jail none other than Clover Dezno and Druscilla Ferraris! It never fails! These two tinies can’t go a Faire without adding to their ever expanding rap sheet! But say what you will, they know how to pawtay! Ever see a sim full of tinies get nakie in protest! We have. Who knows what will happen? All we can say for sure is that Justice has never been swifter! Or cuter! DJ Catalina Staheli will TRY to keep a straight face. But don’t worry. You don’t have to! Come join us 11AM-1PM in Bright Haven!

The highlight of the day is of course our traditional Live Auction, taking place in Sapphire Mirror Lake 2-4 PM SLT. This is your one chance to win pieces of the Fairelands for yourself. How about the Cinderella Statue or the Dark Tower of Dangarnon for your home sim? What about acquiring all of the hedgehogs from Echtra for your forest? Oh, I know! Would you like the whole region of Breeze, perhaps? Come to the Live Auction and make your bid!

Leading up to the auction and spinning out of it will be DJ Zander Greene and following the Auction we have our traditional May Day Ball masquerade in Sapphire Mirror Lake 4-6 PM, DJed by Gabrielle Riel. Come join us in this last of the lasts of this Faire as we dance the night away and celebrate the Spirit of the Fairelands and Relay!

If you haven’t finished The Fairelands Quest: Tale of Exiles, I suggest you run to start or continue it right now, the dragon hoard of prizes is well worth it, as is the amazing adventure leading up to it! If you have finished it, please tell us what you thought, we use all the feedback in providing you with even a better story next year!

Check either Calendar of Events or Faire Happenings for daily event details!

Fantasy Faire has relayed L$ 5,845,434 lindens by the end of the tenth day of the Faire. Keep up the fantastic work, Faire Folk!
