Blogger FAQ

The blogger applications are now closed. Only the accepted bloggers were contacted. Thank you for your interest and support!

The Fairelands welcome bloggers to share, capture and report their magic. The days that the portals stay open are surprisingly short and we want to make certain that the word spreads as far and wide as possible, so every possible guest knows when to visit and what they can expect to see.

This year there are some changes to how the Faire blogging occurs. First of all, there is no obligatory assignments. Instead there are challenges. We do not want to force anyone to do anything, we want to inspire, dare, encourage: challenge.

The said challenges are Faire Folk, My New Shiny and Why I Relay. You can read more about them on their own pages. The last one is only for those who have a personal reason to relay and is absolutely not necessary for those with no ties to the charity.

The challenges are open for anyone to do: official blogger or not. You don’t even have to be a blogger at all if you want to do these, there’s Flickr pool you can share the challenges in as well.

Because of these changes also the amount of bloggers that we invited to the early access was less than in the last couple of years. We focused mostly on bloggers who take pictures in the sims (or of the sims), write well in a fantasy-fitting manner (for example roleplay-stories) or bloggers who have strong ties to RFL and reasons to support the event.

In addition to the bloggers that we invited into the early access, we also invited six bloggers to write straight to the site: Caitlin Tobias, Duchess Flux, Halfwraith Caerndow, Irina Strazytski, Wildstar Beaumont and Vylna Daviau. Some will write about RFL, some conjure up roleplay stories from the Fairelands and some will report on the Faire happenings.

We thank everyone who applied for their interest and support and hope they will come and enjoy the Faire for all the eleven days it runs, regardless if they have that one extra day of early access or not.
